Rentier
Temporary Residence
This type of residency is granted to those who can demonstrate that they have investments, trust funds or businesses outside of Costa Rica that provide them with a minimum income of $2,500 per month for the next 4 years.
Investor
Temporary Residence
The Investor Visa is intended for those who have made an investment in Costa Rica of $150,000 in property or company shares.
Retired
Temporary Residence
Temporary Residence for Pensioners or Retirees is granted to those who have retirement fund income of at least $1,000 per month.
Digital Nomad
A Digital Nomad Visa is a special authorization or permit to reside in Costa Rica for a period of 12 months, which is renewable for an additional 12 months. It is required to demonstrate a minimum gross income of USD 3,000 per month and have medical insurance with a minimum coverage, which can be from another country or can be purchased from a local provider.
